316L stainless steel pipe (022Cr17Ni12Mo2) is an ultra-low carbon austenitic stainless steel. Due to the addition of molybdenum element, its corrosion resistance (especially pitting corrosion resistance), heat resistance, and mechanical strength are superior to 304 stainless steel. It has excellent resistance to chloride corrosion and is widely used in marine environments, medical devices, food processing, petrochemicals, and fluid transportation pipelines.

Molybdenum element addition (2-3% Mo) significantly enhances corrosion resistance:

Corrosion resistance to chloride (seawater, bleach, salt spray environment);

Anti acidic media (chemical fluids such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, etc.);

Anti pitting and crevice corrosion (key applicable to flange connections).

Working temperature range: -196 ° C to 800 ° C (short-term heat-resistant);

Pressure bearing capacity: up to 1000 PSI (adjusted according to wall thickness);

Ultra low carbon (≤ 0.03%): It is not easy to precipitate carbides after welding, eliminating the risk of intergranular corrosion.

316L (Low Carbon) has a lower carbon content than 316, therefore it has stronger corrosion resistance and is more suitable for scenarios where annealing is not performed after welding.

Chemical processing: supporting acid/alkali transportation pipelines and reaction vessels.

Pharmaceutical industry: high-purity medium transmission, compliant with GMP cleanliness requirements.

Ocean engineering: seawater desalination equipment, ship pipeline systems.
