SGC340D+Z275 galvanized coil is a high-strength galvanized steel widely used in the industrial field, combining the mechanical properties of SGC340D substrate and the corrosion resistance of Z275 coating.

SGC340D: This is a grade specified in the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS G3302) and is primarily used for hot-dip galvanized steel sheet and strip for structural applications.

“SGC” stands for hot-dip galvanized steel sheet with a cold-rolled base material.

“340” indicates the material’s minimum tensile strength (MPa).

The “D” designation may indicate suitability for stamping or deep drawing (deep-drawing grades such as DX53D/DX54D are often designated similarly in European standards, and the SGCD series in JIS standards also indicates stamping), indicating good formability.

Z275: This designation indicates a zinc coating weight of 275 grams per square meter (g/m²) on both sides, meaning the average zinc coating weight per side must be at least 137.5 g/m². Another common coating designation in JIS G3302 is Z27 (zinc coating weight of 270 g/m² or greater), and Z275 can be understood to imply similar or higher requirements. This is a heavy coating that provides excellent corrosion resistance, especially in harsh environments.

Corrosion Resistance: Z275’s zinc coating weight (275g/m²) means it possesses a very thick zinc layer. This zinc layer not only provides a physical barrier to the substrate but also, through the electrochemical protection of sacrificial anodes, corrodes before the steel, thereby extending the material’s service life. Its corrosion resistance far exceeds that of conventional coatings like Z60 and Z80, approaching the protection level of G90 (ASTM A653, with a zinc coating weight of approximately 275g/m²).

Mechanical Properties: SGC340D ensures high material strength. Its minimum tensile strength is 340 MPa, while also exhibiting good formability to accommodate processing requirements.

Processability: This type of galvanized steel coil typically exhibits excellent bending, stamping, and welding properties, making it easily fabricated into various shapes.

Building Structures: Roofs, walls, steel-structured factories, warehouses, garage doors, ventilation ducts, etc., especially in corrosive industrial environments or high-humidity areas.
