What Is a Galvanized Corrugated Sheet?<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A galvanized corrugated sheet<\/strong> is a profiled steel sheet made from hot-dip galvanized steel coil that has been roll-formed into a series of parallel ridges and grooves (corrugations). The zinc coating protects the underlying steel from rust and corrosion, while the corrugated profile significantly increases the sheet’s structural strength and load-bearing capacity compared to a flat sheet of the same thickness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They offer an unbeatable combination of corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, lightweight design, and cost-effectiveness<\/strong>, making them the go-to choice for industrial, commercial, agricultural, and residential building projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Galvanization Process<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The zinc coating on a galvanized corrugated sheet is applied through hot-dip galvanizing<\/strong>, which involves four key steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Cleaning<\/strong> \u2014 The cold-rolled steel substrate is degreased to remove surface oils and contaminants, ensuring proper zinc adhesion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Pickling<\/strong> \u2014 Acid treatment (hydrochloric or sulfuric acid) removes surface oxides and rust, leaving a clean steel surface.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Fluxing<\/strong> \u2014 A zinc ammonium chloride flux is applied to prevent re-oxidation and improve the wetting of molten zinc on the steel surface.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Hot-Dip Galvanizing<\/strong> \u2014 The pre-treated steel sheet is immersed in molten zinc at 450\u2013460\u00b0C, forming a metallurgical bond between the zinc and steel. This creates iron-zinc alloy layers and a pure zinc top layer, typically 30\u2013275 g\/m\u00b2 thick.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
