2205 duplex الفولاذ المقاوم للصدأ is a ferritic-austenitic الفولاذ المقاوم للصدأ composed of approximately 22% chromium, 3% molybdenum, and 5.5% nickel, with added nitrogen (0.14-0.20%) for enhanced strength and corrosion resistance .

This dual-phase microstructure, with roughly equal proportions of ferrite and austenite, combines the best properties of both phases: providing excellent corrosion resistance, high strength (twice that of standard austenitic grades), and good toughness. Its density is approximately 7.8 g/cm³.
