S350GD is a high-strength structural grade hot-dip galvanized steel grade named according to the European standard EN 10346, designed specifically for cold formed structural applications. S350GD galvanized steel coil is one of the most widely used structural grade hot-dip galvanized steels under the EN 10346 standard. It achieves a good balance between cold forming performance, load-bearing capacity, and corrosion resistance, making it a cost-effective material selection solution in engineering fields such as light steel structures, building purlins, and photovoltaic brackets.

The meanings of each part in the S350GD grade are as follows:

S: Structural Steel

350: Minimum yield strength ≥ 350 MPa

G: Hot dip galvanizing

D: Cold forming (cold-rolled substrate), sometimes interpreted as Drawing, refers to the application of cold bending forming.

1. High yield strength, outstanding structural bearing capacity
   The minimum yield strength of S350GD is 350 MPa, and the tensile strength is not less than 420 MPa. While ensuring sufficient strength, it has an elongation rate of over 16% and can meet the requirements of primary and secondary load-bearing components in lightweight steel structures. Compared to S220GD or S280GD, thinner specifications can be used under the same load conditions, which is beneficial for reducing steel consumption per unit area.
2. Good cold forming performance
   The mechanical properties and composition design of S350GD make it suitable for conventional processing techniques such as cold bending, roll forming, stamping, and shallow stretching. In actual production, S350GD within the thickness range can be stably processed into various cross-sectional profiles such as C-type, Z-type, U-shaped, etc. through cold bending forming lines, which are used for building purlins, wall beams and other components with high processing efficiency and low mold wear.
3. Excellent corrosion resistance protection
   S350GD hot-dip galvanized products form metallurgical bonded zinc or alloy coatings on the surface through hot-dip galvanizing process. The zinc layer not only serves as a physical barrier to isolate corrosive media, but also acts as a sacrificial anode to preferentially corrode when the coating is damaged, protecting the substrate steel. In general outdoor environments, the service life of S350GD hot-dip galvanized steel with Z180 coating can reach more than 20 years.
4. Good welding performance
   The low-carbon design of S350GD (C ≤ 0.20%) allows it to be connected using conventional welding processes such as resistance spot welding and MAG/MIG welding, making it suitable for manufacturing processes such as purlin splicing and component assembly.
