DC01 cold rolled steel plate is a type of cold-rolled low-carbon steel defined in the European standard (EN 10130) and the Chinese national standard (GB/T 5213). It is currently one of the most widely used commercial cold-rolled steel grades globally, especially in industries such as home appliances, automobiles, and construction. Its core characteristics lie in good plasticity, formability, and moderate strength, achieving an excellent balance between cost and performance.

DC01 belongs to the category of low carbon steel, and its chemical composition design aims to ensure good formability and welding performance:

Carbon (C): ≤ 0.12%. Low carbon content is the key to ensuring its good ductility and weldability.

Manganese (Mn): ≤ 0.60%.

Phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S): As impurity elements, their content is strictly controlled (usually P and S ≤ 0.045% or lower) to ensure material purity and molding quality.

Aluminum (Al): often added as a deoxidizer, helps refine grains and improve deep drawing performance.

According to standards such as GB/T 5213-2019, the typical mechanical performance range of DC01 is as follows:

Tensile strength: 270~410 MPa.

Yield strength: ≤ 280 MPa (when delivered in annealed state, its upper limit value is usually valid within 8 days after delivery).

Post fracture elongation: ≥ 28% (for plates with a thickness greater than 0.7mm). High elongation is an important indicator of its ease of molding.

Hardness: approximately within the range of HB 65-75.

DC represents Drawing Cold (steel for cold forming), and 01 represents the foundation grade.

In the European/National Standard (GB/T 5213) system, the numerical numbering of DC series grades (such as DC01, DC03, DC04, DC05, DC06, DC07) represents the level of formability. The larger the number, the better the deep drawing performance of the steel, but usually the carbon content control is stricter and the cost is higher.

DC01: Generally used. Formability is relatively basic and suitable for simple forming and shallow stamping.

DC03: Used for stamping.

DC04: Used for deep drawing.

DC05/DC06/DC07: Used for deep drawing/ultra deep drawing.

Excellent formability and weldability: Thanks to its low-carbon design and annealed state, it is easy to perform bending, stamping, curling and other processing, and has good weldability.

Good surface quality: Cold rolling process makes its surface smooth and flat, suitable for direct spraying or as a coating (such as galvanized) substrate.

Alta precisión dimensional: The cold rolling process can precisely control the thickness and shape tolerances of the sheet metal.

Economy: As a common commercial steel, its cost is relatively low and its cost-effectiveness is high.

Home appliance industry: This is one of the main application areas of DC01, commonly used in components such as washing machine casings, refrigerator panels, air conditioning casings, microwave oven casings, etc. that require high formability, surface quality, and cost control.

Automotive industry: used for manufacturing components such as door panels, fuel tanks, seat frames, etc. that require formability but are not structurally load-bearing.

Architectural and General Hardware: Used for lightweight brackets, ventilation ducts, blinds, filing cabinets, etc.

Other: Office furniture, general stamping parts, etc.
